urlShort 1.2.0 Released
Just a few minutes ago, I released the latest version of urlShort, the free open source URL shortener. It's not quite what I had planned, but it's by far the most improved version yet. Version 1.2.0 features URL previews/warning which displays the full URL that you're about to continue to, as well as offers a thumbnail image (via SnapShots).
In addition, 1.2.0 fixes two critical security holes, of both Cross Site Scripting (XSS), and an SQL Injection vulnerability. Major thanks to m0nkee at GNY.ME!, who implemented the preview functionality, and located the vulnerabilities.
To use the URL preview functionality, the user must first select to enable it by placing a cookie on their machine. Our own urlShort service has been updated with these changes (enable URL previews).
Go download urlShort 1.2.0 now!

September 1, 2009 - 11:26pmYea love how you totally took my ideas that I already implemented, get someone else to implement them, and give that person credit. If this isn't what happened feel free to correct me but thats the way it seems. Also why haven't you emailed me back or commented on my dev team request?
That is not the case. m0nkee

September 2, 2009 - 3:12pmThat is not the case. m0nkee saw brep.us on the links page of urlShort, and decided to implement them on his own website GNY.ME. He then contacted me, offering the code for the project. Unless I'm mistaken, I haven't received any email from you, nor a dev team request... I sent an email to you on August 8th, and never got a reply. What address did you send it to? I'll need to look into where it got lost (since that's obviously a problem), and SF.net hasn't notified me of any dev team requests... Sorry if it seemed like I was ripping off your idea or implementation, that wasn't mine, nor m0nkee's intent.

September 2, 2009 - 4:53pmThanks for the response. What happened is fine and I'm happy that my ideas are being added even if it isn't by me. I just thought it was a little odd that you implemented that after my email then gave m0nkee the credit.
As for the email I replied directly to the address it was sent from which was matt [at] mavrev.com. I've forwarded a copy of it with the Dev team request email attached to the same address just to make sure you get it. If you want me to send it to another email just respond.
BTW my username on SF is giod.
I hope to be able to help this project more in the future.
I didn't receive a reply, nor

September 2, 2009 - 6:29pmI didn't receive a reply, nor a request from you, but only my original email... Try emailing it directly to agentalterations@gmail.com... a few people have had problems emailing matt@mavrev.com (all urlShort related incidentally) in the past, probably because of a spam trigger for whatever reason. I'll add you on SF in just a bit.
Cheers
